Cory cronette4/25/2023 ![]() Inside was 30-year-old Cory Voss, dead from five gunshot wounds to the abdomen, chest, and arm, according to Newport News’ Daily Press newspaper. Responding officers realized the truck matched Catherina’s description of her husband’s vehicle. She said a man was slumped over in the driver’s seat of his truck. Hours later, a woman reported a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a strip mall. to get money from an ATM so their children would have lunch money at school and never returned. She said Cory had gone out the previous night around 11 p.m. Catherina organized a romantic dinner on his first night home on April 28, 2007. But a round 6 a.m. ![]() In January 2007, Voss was deployed for several months on the USS Elrod. told “Snapped,” with daughter Casey Voss adding, “He always wanted to take me and my brother and go outdoors and just do whatever we could." He did everything for us,” son Cory Voss Jr. Aware that deployment could happen at any moment, Cory spent as much time with his family as he could. In 2005, Cory earned his commission as a Naval officer and the family moved to a home in Newport News, Virginia. In 2000, she gave birth to a daughter, Casey, followed by a son, Cory Jr., a year later. “She told Cory that she was raised in the Ukraine …then moved back to the States when she was in the 8th or 9th grade,” former NCIS Special Agent Maureen Evans told “Snapped,” airing Sundays at 6/5c on Oxygen.Īfter dating for three months, Catherina became pregnant. Cory was taken with her big personality, her curves, and her exotic accent. ![]() While out bar hopping with friends in 1999, Cory met Catherina “Cat” Wiggins. Upon completing training, he was assigned to Norfolk Naval Station in southeastern Virginia. He was a hard worker and well liked by his fellow service members. After dropping out of high school, he earned his G.E.D. But it was all a put-on - and their marriage would end with his death.Ĭory Allen Voss was born in 1977 and grew up in Berwin, Illinois, outside Chicago. These lactones, with greatly diminished activity in the blood pressure and smooth muscle assays (indicators of potential side effects), represent a therapeutically useful class of antifertility agents. When Cory Voss met his future wife, he was beguiled by her foreign accent. Several of the lactones whose parent hydroxy acids are resistant to metabolic inactivation (e.g., 15-methyl, 16-phenoxy, and 17-phenyl) exhibited potent abortifacient activity in the hamster. These results are consistent with the observed relative ease of enzymatic hydrolysis of the prostaglandin lactones (1,15 greater than or equal to 1,11 much greater than 1,9). The 1,11- and 1,15-lactones exhibited very low activity in acute or in vitro screens (e.g., rat blood pressure and gerbil colon stimulation), assays which more closely reflect the intrinsic activity of the lactones themselves. The 1,11- and 1,15-lactones, on the other hand, were essentially equal to the parent hydroxy acids as antifertility agents (a 4-day assay which would allow time for in vivo enzymatic lactone hydrolysis). In general, the 1,9-lactones exhibited less than 1% of the biological activity of the parent hydroxy acids in the standard prostaglandin test systems. In each case, the key lactonization step was done using Corey's "double activation" procedure (cyclization of omega-hydroxy-2-pyridinethiol esters). Most of the primary prostaglandins and several biologically important prostaglandin analogues were converted to 1,9-, 1,11- or 1,15-lactones, in order to investigate the biological profiles of these internal esters and to assess their potential as prodrugs for the corresponding open-chain hydroxy acids.
